and head up into the headwaters of Apalachicola Bay and then miles and miles of the Apalachicola River system.
Hang a sharp left and within about 7 miles or so across Apalachicola Bay you'll enter the Gulf of Mexico through Bob Sykes cut
for a day of offshore fishing. Don't forget to stop at the jetties between St. George Island, and Little St. George Island at Bob Sykes cut for the big Red's, Spanish Mackerel, Trout, and others!

     Journey just 3 miles down quiet paved streets and you'll find Eastpoint which is a small town on
Highway 98. East point being the central point of the Forgotten Coast on the
Florida Panhandle located just 7 miles east of historic Apalachicola. You won't find any Condo's or
vacation rental properties in Eastpoint, we don't even have not one traffic light.


     Seven miles South you'll discover the white sandy beaches of St. George Island, with the multi
purpose 1,962 acre St. George Island State Park on the East end. The West end is home to the
Plantation; A Gated, Private community, The Plantation holds 100's of high dollar vacation Rental
units. Want even more privacy? At the Bob Sykes Cut end of the Island you'll find yet another
gated community inside the Plantation right on Bob Sikes Cut itself. Talk about convenient!

Great place to visit but the taxes and insurance make it un-affordable for the average person.

"Back to Eastpoint"
     The Eastpoint community has good infrastructure; Here you'll find we have friendly people, a post
office, gas stations, convenience stores, hardware/lumber stores, fishing tackle, flower shops, various banks and
churches, along with several restaurants where you'll feast on some of the finest in mouth watering quizen.


     Eastpoint is conveniently located about 70 miles in either direction from both Tallahassee Florida
and Panama City Florida. Both cities have large commercial airports with connections to Atlanta,
Orlando, Miami, and beyond.

     To the north you'll fall in love with 185,000 acres of Tate's Hell Swamp, and 564,961 acres that make-up the Apalachicola National Forest,
the largest National Forest in Florida. There again you won't find vacation Rental units and condos,
but you will have access to many camp sites, both primitive, and a few places to pull up with your
motor home or travel trailer.
